Upper Cove Run Dam Site #27   The Upper Cove Dam #27 was completed in 1998. According to the local NRCS representative, it cost taxpayers approximately $8 million dollars and took approx. 83 acres of land. The Upper Cove dam has a drainage area of 2,400 acres, only 2% of the Lost River drainage area. The dam is located just east of Mathias, WV.
